Petit Clos is the second wine of Clos Henri made from the grapes that are not used in the top cuvee.
Careful hand harvesting and berry selection ensured uniform ripeness of berries. Carefully watched, the must underwent a week-long cold soak and plunging regime and a cool fermentation in open top tanks. The Pinot Noir was then aged for ten months in French oak barrels. Only 15% new oak was used.
The Petit Clos expresses generous delicate plum and cherry aromas, with a hint of cinnamon and clove on the nose. There is a pleasant earthiness and the wine is beginning to display some secondary Pinot aromatics of grilled mushroom and undergrowth
